Brightwood Adventure Park
Spending quality time with the kiddos is great, especially when you get to enjoy nature and soak up the sun at the same time. One of the best things about living in Brightwood is having the world class Adventure Park right on your doorstep. With flying foxes, rope swings, nature playground, football goals and BBQ area, it’s the perfect place to head for a picnic. Pack a basket with all their favourite foods, invite your neighbours and enjoy an afternoon out in your community – your little ones will have hours of fun.
Safety Bay Beach
Just under 20 minutes away from Brightwood, Safety Bay Beach is positioned at the northern end of Warnbro Sound. With views spanning across the wide-open ocean, it is an especially picturesque section of the coastline. As the name suggests, the bay is home to relatively shallow waters and a long line of reefs shield it from ocean waves, making it very family-friendly. There are some great children’s playgrounds nearby too, making it a wonderful day out for the whole family.
Dinosaurs of Patagonia – Boola Bardip Museum Exhibit
Why not take a day trip to Perth and explore the new Boola Bardip WA Museum? The Dinosaurs of Patagonia is a world-first exhibit that lets you experience the striking, real-life scale of the ancient creatures. Walk with herbivores and carnivores from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic and dive into 13 dinosaur species, 16 skeleton casts, incredible fossils. Find out more information here.
Serpentine Falls
The crowning jewel of Serpentine National Park, Serpentine Falls is less than 30 minutes from home and a great place to introduce little ones to Perth’s beautiful landscapes. With a natural swimming pool surrounded by granite, polished smooth by rushing waters, and a grass picnic area, it’s a must-do day trip. Make sure you keep an eye out for the western grey kangaroos and wildflower displays while you’re there!
