Rockingham Beach
The crystal clear and calm waters of this popular north facing beach is tucked into the south of Point Peron so it’s well protected making it ideal for families. Being the main beach for the City of Rockingham, the foreshore along the beach is well developed with a number of facilities including playgrounds and picnic tables. Certain sections of the beach are dog friendly so the whole family can enjoy, and you might even catch some horses strolling in the shallows which makes you feel like you are worlds away.
Safety Bay Beach
Just under 20 minutes away from Brightwood, Safety Bay Beach is positioned at the northern end of Warnbro Sound. With views spanning across the wide-open ocean, it is an especially picturesque section of the coastline. As the name suggests, the bay is home to relatively shallow waters and a long line of reefs shield it from ocean waves, making it very family friendly. Nearby to some great children’s playgrounds, it’s a wonderful day trip for the whole family.
Secret Harbour BeachThe wide beach with good swimming and surfing conditions is home to a Surf Lifesaving Club so there are toilet and shower facilities as well as a patrolled flag area so you can relax and unwind knowing you are swimming in safety. Backed by sand dunes and a coastal reserve area, it’s a very scenic spot to laze under your umbrella for hours. With deeper waters than some of the surrounding beaches, it is also a popular spot for fishing.
